Victoria wins the UVSA Tet Pageant!
So…much has changed in 2007 for me. Job with SAP ended, moved away from Mountain View, re-settled in LA, and now I’m studying again…at UCLA. Life is great as a student, and I’m celebrating the good times again. Strange things have happened, but probably the worst of all for my blog is to leave it neglected. Therefore, I’m back online to showcase some more good snapshots of my life for ya…
Probably the one photogenic event that I’ve been finding the right time to post up was the beauty pageant that my girlfriend entered. Re-wind to Lunar New Year 2007…Victoria entered the Beauty Pageant for the Union of Vietnamese Students Association…

“Miss Ao Dai”
OK. So she didn’t win the whole thing as in first place or whatever, but I’m still proud of her. True I totally don’t imagine her as the type for pageants (along with all of her other friends). But on the other hand she got the prize for “Co Ao Dai Duyen Dang” (Vietnamese for ‘Miss “Ao Dai”‘ – Ao Dai being the iconic Vietnamese dress). But most importantly…she had fun.

It’s ironic that she won the prize for the best dress, as I recall her complaining almost daily about how her dresses were too ugly, and how she needed to upgrade, re-fit, change colors, et cetera…Oh well. At least, as part of her prize she gets another free Ao Dai to add to her collection of 6 or 7 that she had done for the pageant. Haha. What luck. Anyway, it was an interesting weekend, and I got to see my baby strut her stuff on stage in front of thousands of mesmerized Vietnamese folks in the audience.

Ain’t she pretty? Victoria (right) with friends Jenny (center) and Beronica (left)…
Anyway, time never ceases to bring new experiences and happy memories. Here’s to a great 2007…
