But I could have sworn San Diego is a lot uglier than that. It’s been a couple years since I’ve been down to SD, but I don’t recall all the tall buildings. Anyone know where this is? Sometimes I get the urge to jump back on a motorcycle, even though the dangers of riding are frequently condemned by my girlfriend, parents, and other wise cowards. One day…

Most of you who hate Vietnamese food probably abhor its signature smell…of Fish Sauce.

But don’t hate, Vietnamese people are definitely not the only ones who eat fishy foods. But it’s also not just an Asian thing. In fact, the ancient Romans were actually huge fans of the stuff.

Archaeologists have actually found shipwrecked ruins of a Roman trading vessel, with stores of valuable Fish Sauce jars.

It turns out that Fish Sauce was a high-priced delicacy for the Romans, as it is now for Vietnamese folks (but not so high-priced) of today. So stop hating, and start appreciating food that smells fishy.
